What will the wife do?

When planning to move to the Philippines the topic of what to do with your time often comes up. For many it is also the topic of how to create an income stream.

For those that are married little thought is given to what the wife will do. If she is currently working then she will be moving to a life of leisure. Traditional employment is not really an option for most as the salary is so low. Some will be happy with being a lady of leisure while others will be come bored.

If your wife needs something to occupy her time then an alternative to employment is to set her up in some sort of business. This is what I plan to do.

It is something that she has expressed interest in doing. I am prepared to subsidize it if need be but knowing her I will not be surprised if it is very profitable.

This has become a topic of discussion at home this last few days as the wife is no longer happy in her current job. Yesterday she actually took in a letter of resignation for current her job. They did not want to accept it and convinced her to take a week off and reconsider. She submitted to the pressure and has taken the week off but still wants to leave.

She has worked there for more than four years and despite working her way up to being a supervisor feels the job offers her no satisfaction or sense of achievement.
The extra income has been nice but not necessary. She will either return to work or take up some higher paying seasonal work as we are getting closer to Christmas.
