| Time for new passports
Time to get new passports. Took the family to get the photos today. My passport still has a couple of years validity but I am planning to get a permanent residence. Do not want the trouble of getting the permanent residence visa renewed in two years.
The wife and children are much easier. Last year I took the wife to the Filipino Embassy to Re-acquisition of her Filipino citizenship and at the same time I registered all the children as Filipino citizens.
I got enough photos for both passports for them. After they have their passports I will start the process of applying for the permanent residence.
With the Filipino passports the wife and children will be able to stay in the Philippines without a Visa. I am entitled to a Balikbayan visa which will enable me to stay for a year in the Philippines only if I arrive with the wife.
The permanent residence will enable me to come and go as I please and also has some additional benefits such as the right to work.
